Calculating Grade Point Average
Step 1:  Fill in the number of courses that you have earned a specific grade for in column one.  Next, fill in the corresponding grade you have earned in column two.

                              example:

number of courses grade earned
3 A (4 pts.)
2 B (3 pts.)
1 C (2 pts.)

Step 2:  Multiply the total number of courses taken by the grades points earned per grade to get the total points for the grade.

example:     3 A's were earned for a total of 12 grade points

                                                   3 x 4 = 12

Step 3:  Now divide the total of column one by the total of column two.  The answer to this calculation is your Grade Point Average (GPA)

                             example:

  number of courses grade earned
  3 A (4 x 3 = 12)
  2 B (2 x 3 = 6)
  1 C (1 x 2 = 2)
total 6 20
                                                                                     20 / 6 = 3.33 GPA

* Honors courses taken can add one grade point for each A, B, or C earned.
