What about socialization? How will my child learn to get along in the world if he doesn’t go to school?

Schools:
  • classify and segregate children by age and ability
  • reinforce class, gender and racial prejudice
  • strip from children the right to any real interaction or private life

Socialization then means:
- submitting one's will to that of the group (or person in   charge).

Not the basis for healthy relationships

The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn.

                                      -Cicero (Quoted by Montaigne)

Home educated children:
  • spend so much of their time out in the real world
  • able to communicate well with both adults and children
  • have friends of all ages
  • spend time with others that they enjoy or have a similar interest - just like adults.

“Jeffrey Mirel, an education professor at the University of Michigan, said studies have shown that most home-schoolers, for example, participate in outside-classroom activities with other children and don't develop social problems.”

It is the duty of a citizen in a free country not to fit into society, but to make society.
